Air leak detection

A professional method for detecting leaks in compressed air systems aims to systematically identify, document and rectify undetected air leaks, thereby saving 20 to 40 per cent on energy costs.

1. Testing

Testing: is ideally carried out whilst production is in progress in order to capture realistic flow conditions and vibrations.

2. Localisation

Ultrasonic measurement: Use of highly sensitive ultrasonic leak detectors, as escaping compressed air generates ultrasonic waves that are inaudible to the human ear.

Rough and fine search: First, a distance search (up to 6 metres) is carried out using funnel attachments, followed by the precise location of the leak using directional tubes or focusing tips.

Key areas: Particular attention is paid to the careful inspection of critical components such as couplings, hose connections, maintenance units, valves and cylinder connections.

3. Troubleshooting and Performance Monitoring

Repair: Targeted replacement of damaged hoses, seals or entire pneumatic components by our service team.

Re-auditing: Final inspection of the repaired components using ultrasound to confirm the success of the repair and the actual cost savings achieved.
